During the lockdown period of Malaysia, Wendy Lim’s household electricity bills began to climb as her husband were working from home and her two children were attending class online. Other than that, they also owned many electric appliances, such as multiple air conditioning units, rice cooker, oven, and two fridges, just to name a few. The electricity bills during that period were around RM 200 or RM300 per month. Even after being careful with their electricity usage, the bills weren’t changing much.

Solutions
After being introduced to the idea of household solar panel installation through social media, Mr and Mrs Lim decided to look into solar panel companies in Malaysia. They’ve figured that, in the long term, installing solar panels will be a worthy investment, as it not only helps them to save money, it’s also helpful to the environment. Verdant Solar was the most responsive company that got back to them. Mrs Lim had a pleasant experience with the sales representative, as every question that she had brought up was addressed and answered properly. After talking to their sales representative, they decided the prices Verdant Solar offered were reasonable and suitable for them. So they made their decision to proceed with the installation of 5 solar panels.
Results
In just 3 months, Mrs Lim observed significant drops in her electricity bills. At one point her bills are just around RM 1 or RM 2 thanks to the government’s subsidy received from the generated electricity. At the end of the year during installation, the government even owed her household quota for electricity, as the solar panels generated more electricity than what they consumed. With the recent rise in electricity costs, the total of her monthly bills sit around RM 20. They didn’t have to worry about rainy days causing the panels to generate less electricity, as the generated electricity can be carried over to the next day. She can also keep track of all the aforementioned data via an app, which is super handy.
Other than being super satisfied with the performance of the panels, she is also very impressed with the after-sales services that Verdant Solar provided. The walls of the house were slightly leaking once, despite being unrelated to solar panels, the people at Verdant Solar still came over and helped to take a look at the situation, and pointed them in the right direction for a solution.
Overall, Mrs Lim had a tremendously good experience with Verdant Solar, as it not only solved her problem and helped her achieve her goal of saving money, she was also able to show her support in sustainability for the sake of a greener earth.
