How Does Solar Produce Energy in 4 Steps?

How Does Solar Produce Energy?

If you are wondering what’s that silver-looking panel crowning on the roof, you probably stumbled on solar panels! Good chances that you are wondering how does it work?

Great questions! Here’s a simplified version of how solar produces energy.

Solar Produce Energy: What is Solar Panels?

As we all know, solar panels convert sunlight into electrical energy. Solar panels are also known as Solar Photovoltaic Panels or Solar PV Panels. Photovoltaic cells are the smaller units of materials found on the panels, effectively helping with the conversion to be stored in the batteries.

How Does Solar Produce Energy?

Each panel is linked with a layer of silicon cells and other materials such as metal frames, glass casing, and wiring for a positive and negative electrical charge. When sunlight hits on the respective panels, the photovoltaic cells will be absorbing the sunlight.

Why Do We Need Solar Inverter?

While the photovoltaic cells are transforming the sunlight energy into electricity, the electricity generated is called direct current (DC). However, alternating currents (AC) are used to power homes. Hence, an inverter plays an important role in converting DC to AC.

How To Generate Your Own Electricity?

After the conversion of DC to AC, the electrical panel will be distributed within your home and generate power for your appliances. You can automatically draw additional electricity from the grid because you are still connected to your traditional power company.

Conclusion: Solar Produces Energy

The greatest taboo of solar panels is how does it work on cloudy and rainy days because the panels are able to capture any sunlight. Net Energy Metering comes in handy when your utility provider will offset your electricity bills with the excess power you send back to the grid.

This is how does solar produce energy! If you find yourself still lost with these flows, do contact our solar professional right now for a free consultation.
